  6. DESCRIPTION:
  7. A SQL Database engine to create database applications. For people who don't
  8. know what that means, you can develop example a kick ass financial software
  9. system with relations. Without fiddling around in C++ code or lines and
  10. lines of code to get that address out of a long string. Just send your query
  11. to the SQL-Server engine and it will sort it out for you.

  13. You can example send the following line of code to the "server":
  14. SELECT author, title, isbn_no from publishers
  15.  WHERE author = 'Pete Simmons'
  16.  AND title like '%South Africa%'
  17.  
  18. The above example should be self explaining.

  20. Requirements:
  21. - Any *AMIGA*, I have an A1200-030-18MB RAM & Kick 3.0
  22. - The latest version of ixemul.library
  23. - Some common sense.
  24. - AmiTCP/IP 4.0+ or Miami 1.xx or better. Maybe TermiteTCP
  25. - A C/C++ compiler may come in handy...

  27. Configuration:
  28. Create a new port in AmiTCP services, preferebly on port 1114, then edit
  29. inetd.conf and put in the line to call mSQL. Now start AmiTCP/Miami.
  30. Start hacking away, look at the examples all in .html format which ill tell
  31. you how to use mSQL. Hint: You need to know some socket programming to get
  32. going here, go to a search engine and search for "BSD Socket primer" if you
  33. don't know socket programming.

  44. If it doesn't work on your machine, it works on Tyler's machine. He even has
  45. the web interface going. So there. Remeber to set a stack of around 400,000.
